Base Salary
$143k - $304k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive microarchitecture, firmware architecture, and development across all phases of product development.
- Design and develop security subsystems and low-level hardware interfaces for server, silicon, and rack infrastructure.
- Evaluate the security designs of third-party components to ensure they meet Azure platform-security requirements.
- Debug and resolve issues spanning multiple subsystems.
Requirements
- Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field plus 3+ years of technical engineering experience; or a master's degree plus 6+ years; or a bachelor's degree plus 8+ years; or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred: 12+ years of professional experience designing and developing software solutions.
- Preferred: C/C++ and Rust programming skills, with security and embedded software/firmware development experience.
- Preferred: knowledge of encryption ciphers and security protocols.
- Preferred: experience with platform initialization, board support package porting, low-level peripheral drivers, memory management, scheduling, interrupts, and multithreading.
- Preferred: experience with driver development, Linux driver initialization, memory interfaces, operating-system primitives, and penetration testing.
Benefits
- U.S. base pay is listed at $142,800-$274,800 per year, with a separate San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area range of $188,000-$304,200 per year.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- The Microsoft Cloud Background Check is required upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
