Base Salary

$115k - $124k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Configure and extend FAST/GenTax functionality for City-specific revenue and tax use cases using FAST tools and C#.
  • Design, build, and maintain production services, integrations, APIs, and web applications connecting Revenue IT systems with City applications and data sources.
  • Write and optimize SQL for reporting, data migration, and application features across SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL environments.
  • Translate evolving requirements into technical solutions by collaborating with product owners, business analysts, business partners, QA, stakeholders, and FAST engineers.
  • Review code, write unit and integration tests, monitor released features, and maintain quality and performance.
  • Support production systems by triaging incidents, debugging complex multi-system issues, and implementing fixes and follow-up improvements.
  • Document designs, decisions, and runbooks and contribute to shared engineering standards and development workflows.
  • Uphold data security, compliance, and City policies applicable to Revenue systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related area, or equivalent practical experience; boot camps and alternative pathways are welcomed.
  • Minimum three years of experience in a technical role.
  • Experience developing in a .NET environment using C# and building production web applications and services.
  • Proficiency with relational databases and SQL, including experience with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences and work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong ownership, follow-through, source-control habits, modern development workflow knowledge, and ability to clarify incomplete requirements.
  • Preferred experience configuring FAST/GenTax in government revenue or tax domains.
  • Preferred API design and integration experience, familiarity with eventing, messaging, or ETL patterns, technical documentation, code reviews, and complex debugging.
  • Experience providing technical support for a wide variety of applications and working in a government or nonprofit agency, particularly knowledge of the City of Philadelphia, is preferred.
