Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software systems primarily using Python, SQL, Bash, JavaScript, Django, and related technologies.
- Build interactive data reporting and visualizations using Plotly Dash, D3.js, AG Grid, and other suitable tools.
- Translate business data requirements into Apache Airflow DAGs and maintain ETL data pipelines.
- Expand and maintain Django web applications, Plotly Dash visualizations, and Python-based ETL applications.
- Research emerging technologies, manage server infrastructure, and identify opportunities for automation and performance improvement.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Apply software development, testing, secure coding, and security best practices.
- Lead 5–6 junior Python developers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in data engineering and software development using Python, including Django, and SQL.
- Experience building and maintaining ETL data pipelines and data visualizations, with Dash and Plotly experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of software development principles, version control, continuous integration, testing, and Agile methodologies.
- Experience integrating front-end and back-end technologies such as Django and FastAPI.
- Experience creating and maintaining architecture documentation and flow charts.
- Experience working with Linux-based infrastructure and services in a corporate setting.
- Experience with secure coding principles and security best practices.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, prioritization, and deadline-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
