Responsibilities
- Design and build production-grade AI platform services, including LLM gateways, MCP servers, and agent orchestration frameworks.
- Lead the design and implementation of a unified AI gateway supporting multi-provider LLM access, intelligent routing, fallback, cost optimization, token budgeting, and observability.
- Design and implement MCP infrastructure and agentic AI workflows involving reasoning, tool orchestration, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop escalation.
- Own critical platform subsystems end to end and resolve performance bottlenecks across inference and orchestration layers.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and collaborate with management, product, QA, UI/UX, and AI/ML teams.
- Deliver high-quality work on schedule in a fast-paced startup environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
- 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Strong Java and object-oriented development skills, including experience building and scaling microservices.
- Strong knowledge of relational database management systems and NoSQL technologies, with enterprise backend development experience.
- Experience with Java, MongoDB, MySQL, AWS technologies, the ELK stack, Spring Boot, and Kafka.
- Experience developing large-scale cloud-native applications and applying debugging, performance, and optimization techniques.
- Strong understanding of LLM fundamentals, MCP infrastructure, AI gateway architecture, agentic AI frameworks, LLM observability and evaluation, and AI safety and guardrails.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems, deliver in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
