Responsibilities
- Design and build production-grade AI platform services, including LLM gateways, MCP servers, and agent orchestration frameworks.
- Lead the design and implementation of a unified multi-provider LLM gateway with intelligent routing, fallback, cost optimization, token budgeting, and observability.
- Design and implement MCP infrastructure, including tool schemas, MCP servers, tool discovery, and agentic workflow integration.
- Develop agentic AI patterns with multi-step reasoning, tool orchestration, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop escalation paths.
- Own critical platform subsystems end to end and resolve performance bottlenecks across inference and orchestration layers.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and collaborate with management, product, QA, UI/UX, and AI/ML teams.
- Deliver high-quality work on schedule in a fast-paced startup environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
- 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Strong Java, object-oriented development, backend, debugging, performance optimization, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience building and scaling microservices and large-scale cloud-native applications.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and NoSQL technologies, including experience with MongoDB and MySQL.
- Experience with AWS, ELK stack, Spring Boot, and Kafka.
- Experience developing enterprise-system backends, such as for eCommerce, manufacturing, or supply chain applications.
- Strong understanding of LLM fundamentals, MCP infrastructure, AI gateway architecture, agentic AI frameworks, LLM observability and evaluation, and AI safety guardrails.
- Ability to mentor junior and mid-level engineers, enforce code quality, communicate effectively, and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
