Base Salary
$180k - $233k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, create, and maintain software and systems that improve service availability, scalability, and efficiency.
- Set the architectural direction of infrastructure and platform services while supporting the engineering organization.
- Design and implement tools and processes for deployment, change, service, and infrastructure management.
- Troubleshoot and debug critical systems throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Evolve and improve the performance of platform capabilities provided to engineering teams.
- Perform capacity planning and demand forecasting to anticipate performance bottlenecks.
- Participate in rotating on-call duties.
- Reduce operational toil and improve developer experience.
Requirements
- Extensive fluency in AWS and Linux.
- Ability to read, write, and debug code in languages including Python, Go, PHP, and JavaScript.
- Expertise designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems using DNS, TLS, HTTP/S, and TCP/IP.
- Five years of experience managing infrastructure and systems.
- Demonstrable knowledge of instrumenting, operating, and observing distributed microservices in a production cloud environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly with cross-functional partners at varied technical levels.
- Ability to decompose complex problems and make the tradeoffs necessary to deliver impact.
