Responsibilities
- Lead the adoption of OpenTelemetry and reduce vendor lock-in across observability tooling.
- Design, build, and operate a centralized observability platform.
- Establish and promote observability best practices across engineering teams.
- Develop tooling and automation related to the observability platform.
- Treat the observability platform as a product for internal engineering teams.
- Collaborate with distributed engineering teams across multiple locations.
- Mentor engineers on observability principles and practices.
- Contribute to technical design discussions and platform decisions.
Requirements
- 5–6+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, SRE, or DevOps.
- Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry or familiarity with its ecosystem.
- Proven experience building and operating observability platforms.
- Development experience in Go, Java, or Python.
- Production experience with Kubernetes and container-based infrastructure.
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
- Strong Linux and networking fundamentals.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-timezone collaboration.
- High degree of autonomy and ownership.
