Responsibilities
- Lead system development and engineering for highly complex programs, including workflow analysis, coding, testing, and debugging.
- Design, develop, configure, integrate, and continuously enhance the Stepwise product quoting platform.
- Develop scalable, secure, cost-effective backend and API solutions that support sales growth, customer retention, and operational efficiency.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and primary consultant on business status, technology enhancements, process improvements, and complex solutions.
- Lead root-cause analysis, defect investigation, solution implementation, verification, and ongoing optimization.
- Provide leadership, training, guidance, mentoring, and problem-solving support to development teams and other technology areas.
- Coordinate product and process integrations with company resources and global staffing or distributed development teams.
- Participate in proposals, estimates, proof-of-concept activities, code reviews, standards development, and industry knowledge groups.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field and at least five years of development experience, or nine years of related and applicable experience.
- Development experience with technologies such as Angular, NodeJS, TypeScript, C++, .NET, Java, and SQL.
- Preferred experience in data engineering and API development.
- Experience troubleshooting complex issues, performing root-cause analysis, researching solutions, and using data to support recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, communicate with, coach, and mentor team members and collaborate with business and technology stakeholders.
- Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies and working in an Agile team environment.
- Ability to manage changing priorities, meet deadlines, maintain data integrity, and communicate effectively with varied stakeholder audiences.
- Ability to lead and work within diverse development models, including global staffing and crowdsourcing.
- Strong analytical, organizational, time-management, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
