Responsibilities
- Develop complex cloud-based backend products using Java.
- Improve Google Drive integrations beyond its original capabilities.
- Refactor the product core to support deployment outside Google Cloud Platform.
- Scale the application across public and private clouds as the user base grows.
- Optimize code and data structures for application performance.
- Troubleshoot distributed production systems and third-party libraries.
- Design and challenge technical solutions and propose improvements.
- Perform code reviews, share knowledge, and mentor engineers.
- Guide internal and client engineers through their cloud journeys.
- Direct AI-assisted and agentic development using specifications, task decomposition, architecture constraints, testing, linters, CI, and independent review.
Requirements
- Minimum 7–8 years of Java development experience.
- Experience with public cloud, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
- Ability to communicate directly with clients and understand their business needs.
- Technical leadership skills and the ability to make and explain credible technical decisions.
- Strong problem-solving, prototyping, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Good communication skills in Hungarian and English.
- Experience using approved AI coding tools responsibly and managing AI-assisted development risks involving security, supply chain, privacy, and cost.
- Preferred experience with Google Cloud Platform, Google App Engine, SQL, Python, Terraform, Big Data, and customer relationships.
- Preferred hands-on experience orchestrating AI agents through subagents, hooks, custom MCP servers, or similar workflows.
- French language skills are a plus.
