Base Salary
$139k - $233k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end firmware integration and characterization of cabin temperature, humidity, solar, rain, and light sensors.
- Integrate and validate motorized air vents, including aiming, position accuracy, calibration, and end-stop learning.
- Define sensor plausibility, validity, fault-detection, diagnostic, and self-test behavior for climate sensors and actuators.
- Design and execute firmware verification plans, review embedded C, support release sign-off, and investigate integration issues.
- Use logging, CAN/LIN/Ethernet traces, physical measurements, and vehicle testing to identify and resolve root causes.
- Own the climate-to-HMI interface specification and command-to-response latency targets.
- Work with controls, modeling, infotainment, HMI, manufacturing, service teams, and component suppliers.
- Track issues and document architecture, interfaces, and known issues using Jira and Jama workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience in embedded systems, firmware integration, or systems engineering.
- Strong knowledge of sensors, actuators, motors, position feedback, and embedded software interactions.
- Proficiency reading and debugging C/C++ on embedded targets.
- Demonstrated debugging ability across electrical, mechanical, and software domains.
- Experience with automotive communication protocols including CAN, LIN, and Ethernet and associated tooling.
- Hands-on laboratory experience building test setups, instrumenting hardware, and generating data.
- Preferred qualifications include a relevant master’s degree, HVAC or cabin climate experience, automotive environmental or optical sensing, motorized air-vent integration, manufacturing diagnostics, UDS, DTC design, ISO 26262, Python, MATLAB, Vector tools, Agile delivery, Jira, Confluence, Jama, thermal physics, psychrometrics, or fluid dynamics.
