Base Salary

$310k - $340k/yr

Responsibilities

Define the technical direction for either the AI platform layer or the consumer product and data layer.
Make architecture decisions that affect the entire engineering team and own technical RFCs.
Serve as a technical peer to the CTO, driving technical clarity and pushing back when necessary.
Recruit and attract senior engineers to the team.
Write, review, and debug code as part of the development process.
Collaborate with OpenAI researchers to implement the latest AI breakthroughs.

8+ years of production engineering experience with 3+ years at a senior/staff level.
Experience building and owning a large-scale distributed system with over 10 million users.
Deep expertise in AI/ML systems or high-scale data infrastructure.
Strong opinions on model architectures and evaluation methodologies, with the ability to influence through clarity.
Preferred: Top 20 CS degree or advanced degree in a relevant field, with startup experience or significant open-source contributions.
