Base Salary
$156k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and build scalable backend systems for experimentation, segmentation, and targeting.
- Design growth infrastructure that allows product teams to ship experiments safely and independently.
- Build APIs and services for personalization, incentives, lifecycle triggers, and growth workflows.
- Partner with Data Science and Analytics on experiment assignment, event tracking, and metric integrity.
- Improve experimentation velocity by reducing friction in tooling, deployment, and analysis.
- Build reliable, observable, secure systems capable of operating at marketplace scale.
- Establish best practices for experimentation guardrails, traffic allocation, and statistical integrity.
- Influence technical direction across the Growth organization through platform design and architectural leadership.
Requirements
- At least five years of backend software engineering experience.
- Strong experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale.
- Experience building or significantly contributing to experimentation platforms or growth infrastructure.
- Fluency in Kotlin, Java, or similar JVM-based backend technologies.
- Deep experience designing APIs and working with relational databases such as MySQL or CockroachDB.
- Understanding of event-driven architectures, data pipelines, and instrumentation best practices.
- Experience with system reliability, observability, and performance.
- Ability to translate ambiguous growth requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions.
- Strong product instincts and understanding of how platform decisions affect business outcomes.
- Marketplace, e-commerce, or two-sided platform experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with statistical experimentation concepts such as power, bias, and sample sizing is a plus.
- Experience integrating marketing automation, CRM, or lifecycle systems is a plus.
- Exposure to real-time personalization or recommendation systems is a plus.

- Hybrid schedule with three office days per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and one flex day on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday.
