
Software Engineer III, Asset Management Trading Technology
JPMorgan ChaseResponsibilities
- Support critical production applications and resolve issues directly with users.
- Design and engineer scalable, high-performance trading systems across multiple asset classes.
- Collaborate with Traders and Quants to deliver trading technology solutions.
- Build core Java applications for mission-critical order management and trading platforms.
- Architect and implement messaging and streaming solutions using technologies such as Kafka and AMPS.
- Lead code reviews, mentor team members, and contribute to engineering excellence.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design through production deployment.
- Drive GenAI and enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development practices, including code generation, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Validate AI-generated outputs and promote secure, resilient, and responsible AI usage within engineering workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Formal training and certification in software engineering.
- At least 3 years of applied software engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience designing and building end-to-end software systems.
- Strong knowledge of core Java, object-oriented design principles, software architecture, and design patterns.
- Experience with messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka.
- Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and evaluating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment and deliver reliable, scalable, maintainable systems.
- Preferred qualifications include Kotlin experience, financial services or trading technology experience, distributed systems and microservices knowledge, observability and telemetry knowledge, low-latency or high-throughput systems experience, and technical team mentoring or leadership.
