Principal Solution Engineer - Tableau
InformaticaResponsibilities
- Partner with field Solutions Engineers to understand customer needs, build solutions, and drive adoption of resulting assets.
- Build working prototypes before general availability, including dashboard and knowledge-graph prototypes using AI-assisted coding tools.
- Engage strategic and executive-level customers to validate prototypes and pressure-test competitive positioning.
- Develop and maintain competitive readiness materials, talk tracks, demo environments, architecture decks, and Customer Zero materials.
- Experiment with new AI capabilities and skills, including Slack skills, TabNext skills, and Beacon, and identify opportunities to scale them.
- Deliver demos and technical assets tailored to the distinct value drivers of Salesforce and Tableau buyers.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on Tableau Cloud and Tableau Desktop.
- Share field insights across the Solutions Center of Excellence and develop scalable tooling for the field.
Requirements
- Several years of hands-on solutions engineering, sales engineering, or technical pre-sales experience, ideally with analytics, business intelligence, or data platforms.
- Deep, current expertise in Tableau Cloud and Tableau Desktop and the ability to act as a genuine product subject-matter expert.
- Ability to independently build working technical prototypes, including with AI-assisted coding tools.
- Experience partnering with a field or sales organization to translate feedback into actionable product input.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deliver results in 90-day cycles.
- Ability to communicate technical gaps and opportunities clearly to field stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with Tableau, Salesforce, or another enterprise data and analytics platform.
- Preferred experience with Model Context Protocol-based integrations or agentic workflows.
- Preferred experience contributing to structured field-to-product feedback loops and supporting customers or colleagues outside the home region.
