Responsibilities
- Own and enhance scalable, secure, and reliable AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain Engineering Golden Path templates and reusable platform components.
- Build and optimise GitLab CI/CD pipelines using Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure automation.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code to automate deployments and reduce manual effort.
- Develop and enforce cloud governance covering security, cost management, compliance, tagging, and multi-account AWS environments.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot platform issues, and automate solutions for resilience and minimal downtime.
- Support and enable application teams through coaching, mentoring, standards, and self-service cloud practices.
- Provide in-hours support to Platform Engineers and contribute to engineering strategy and enablement.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience as a Platform Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or similar role in a DevOps environment.
- At least 2 years of commercial experience with AWS.
- At least 2 years of experience using Terraform for infrastructure automation.
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitLab CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
- Proficiency in scripting, including Python, and Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Understanding of cloud governance, cost optimisation, tagging strategies, security, and multi-account AWS environments.
- Interest in enabling and mentoring application teams while maintaining architectural and operational standards.
- AWS, Terraform, or automation certifications are welcomed but not mandatory.
- A Computer Science or relevant Engineering degree would be beneficial but is not required.
