Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot secure, stable, and scalable software components.
  • Build and maintain Java-based microservices and modern web applications while considering upstream and downstream system impacts.
  • Write high-quality code with limited guidance and resolve technical problems through debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Use software development lifecycle tools, automation capabilities, and enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools to improve delivery and code quality.
  • Analyze large and diverse data sets to identify problems and support secure application development decisions.
  • Validate AI-generated code, tests, documentation, and refactoring outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
  • Contribute reusable patterns and guidance for safe and effective AI use in engineering workflows.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
  • At least 3 years of applied software engineering experience.
  • Advanced Java programming skills, including Java Core and Java EE.
  • Strong experience developing microservices with Java and Spring Boot, including Spring MVC and Spring Cloud.
  • Strong object-oriented analysis and design, design principles, and design patterns skills, including application debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience developing modern web applications with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.js.
  • Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation.
  • Ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations, with the ability to guide peers.
  • Preferred: familiarity with modern front-end technologies and React.
  • Preferred: exposure to AWS cloud technologies.
