Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and support secure, stable, and scalable software solutions.
- Build modular, production-grade Python applications with reusable classes, structured logging, and automated testing.
- Develop and optimize batch and distributed ETL/ELT pipelines using technologies such as PySpark.
- Create and maintain dbt macros, Jinja templates, seeds, and custom data-quality tests.
- Orchestrate reliable workflows with Airflow, MWAA, Astronomer, or Kubernetes, including scheduling, retries, alerting, and runbook readiness.
- Implement AWS data-processing solutions using Glue, Athena, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment workflows with Terraform.
- Apply lakehouse concepts and manage large-scale datasets using Iceberg, Hudi, and Delta Lake.
- Use Snowflake streams, tasks, roles, and warehouses for scalable data operations.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools for coding, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation while validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Apply SDLC, CI/CD, resiliency, security, code review, and production-support practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on proficiency in Python and/or Java, including system design, application development, testing, and production support.
- Experience building solutions on AWS and working in a large corporate engineering environment.
- Understanding of SDLC, agile delivery, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security practices.
- Experience with modern databases and strong SQL/data-querying skills.
- Exposure to streaming technologies such as Kafka and/or Flink.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, and resiliency and security expectations.
- Ability to guide peers on safe and effective AI-assisted engineering practices.
- Preferred familiarity with prompt engineering, LLMs, model evaluation, embeddings, vector search, responsible AI, and AI tools for engineering productivity or data-driven solutions.
