Base Salary
$211k - $285k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and build core backend services, APIs, and data infrastructure for Zocdoc’s search platform.
- Redesign data ingestion and indexing pipelines for provider and content data.
- Optimize low-latency query paths across search services and ranking systems.
- Integrate ML model serving and embedding generation into production backend services.
- Drive architectural direction and set engineering standards through documentation and code reviews.
- Mentor engineers on backend best practices and distributed systems design.
- Build observability into backend services to improve performance and reliability.
Requirements
- Proven track record of scaling complex, high-traffic backend platforms.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems design and architectural thinking.
- Hands-on experience with C# / .NET or comparable backend frameworks.
- Significant experience with large-scale data pipelines and ingestion systems.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services and cloud-native infrastructure patterns.
- Familiarity with search technologies and ML model serving at production scale.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Passion for mentoring engineers and setting engineering best practices.
