Base Salary
$150k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize core Java components of the Firm Market Risk Platform.
- Develop scalable, high-performance computing solutions for market risk calculations and analysis.
- Extend the on-premise platform into a hybrid cloud architecture and implement containerized deployments.
- Optimize risk data processing pipelines to improve efficiency and response time.
- Integrate the platform with modern data technologies such as Snowflake for cloud-based processing.
- Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and mentorship to junior developers.
- Collaborate with product leads, Risk, Model Governance, Compliance, Analytics, and global technology teams.
- Translate business, analytical, and regulatory requirements into technical solutions.
- Work in an Agile development environment and deliver products efficiently.
Requirements
- Typically 8+ years of relevant experience building large-scale, production-grade systems.
- Strong Core Java expertise with demonstrated depth in backend development.
- Experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and scripting.
- Experience with relational and/or document-oriented databases.
- Ability to guide junior staff, influence technical direction, and manage multiple initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and independent execution skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: production Python experience; Azure, AWS, or GCP experience; Apache Spark or Snowflake exposure; Terraform or CloudFormation experience; containerized deployments; cloud-native architecture; DevOps practices; and financial services or Market Risk experience.
