Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Partner with Product, Finance, Accounting, RevOps, and Engineering leadership on billing architecture and commercial flexibility across self-serve and enterprise motions.
- Design and build billing primitives including usage events, billable metrics, products, rate cards, contracts, credits, subscriptions, overages, and invoice workflows.
- Meter product usage at scale, transform raw events into billable quantities, and support pricing changes without repeated product rework.
- Build and evolve an entitlement layer for programmable feature access, limits, credits, and plan controls.
- Integrate CRM, CPQ, product, billing, ERP, and downstream reporting systems to support coherent quote-to-cash workflows.
- Ensure reliable billing through idempotent event handling, reconciliation, notifications, auditability, and observability.
- Troubleshoot invoice discrepancies, usage drift, contract edge cases, entitlement bugs, migration failures, and cross-system data mismatches.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software engineering experience, including meaningful ownership of business-critical backend systems in production.
- Experience architecting billing, payments, pricing, or quote-to-cash systems for a B2B SaaS company at meaningful scale.
- Experience designing APIs and event-driven systems that ingest, validate, aggregate, and reconcile high-volume operational data.
- Understanding of usage-based pricing, subscriptions, prepaid credits, commitments, overages, hybrid packaging, and enterprise commercial terms.
- Experience working with Accounting, Finance, RevOps, and go-to-market systems where data quality, auditability, and timing matter.
- Experience integrating Salesforce, CPQ, NetSuite, payment platforms, and downstream finance or reporting tools.
- Strong proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript, object-oriented programming, RESTful web services, relational databases, data modeling, transactional workflows, distributed systems, asynchronous processing, testing, logging, telemetry, production debugging, Git, CI/CD practices, and at least one major cloud platform with modern infrastructure tooling.
- Strong product and systems mindset with the ability to model commercial domains cleanly and connect billing architecture to customer experience.
- Bonus: experience with Metronome, Stigg, PLG/self-serve and enterprise sales motions, audit logs, RBAC, webhooks, durable queues, or AI-assisted development tools.
