Responsibilities

  • Define non-functional requirements, performance objectives, scalability goals, workload models, and technical test plans with product, engineering, architecture, and client services teams.
  • Create and maintain performance test scripts, scenarios, workload models, benchmarks, and end-to-end performance test plans.
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines for performance test execution and artifact collection.
  • Analyze infrastructure, application, JVM, database, and observability metrics to identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
  • Architect observability strategies and develop observability pipelines, dashboards, and alerts using Dynatrace and OEM.
  • Perform root cause analysis using Azure monitoring, Dynatrace, code profiling, SQL execution plans, thread dumps, heap dumps, GC logs, and related observability data.
  • Lead performance investigations into production issues and client escalations and recommend remediation actions.
  • Drive performance engineering automation, capacity planning, and continuous improvement across multiple product teams.
  • Spin up and tear down test environments, document software defects, communicate issues, and participate in the Scrum development process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, a technical field, or Business with an MIS background; a master’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • 12–15 years of experience in the performance engineering domain.
  • Extensive experience with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, NeoLoad, or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience with Dynatrace and root cause analysis.
  • Extensive experience with the Azure Cloud platform.
  • Experience with C#, Java, SQL, Oracle, Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
  • Exposure to Jenkins, TeamCity, Ansible, Terraform, Git, GitHub, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience benchmarking web applications, native or desktop applications, APIs, and batch jobs.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into comprehensive non-functional and technical test plans.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills involving multi-tiered, high-performance database applications.
  • At least five years of experience with an Agile development methodology is strongly desired.
  • Financial services knowledge is a plus, along with effective written and verbal communication skills.
