Responsibilities
- Lead strategic data architecture and database design discussions with customers.
- Drive workload analysis, performance benchmarking, and troubleshooting in customer environments.
- Conduct proofs of concept with customers in competitive situations.
- Communicate complex technical database topics clearly to customers and audiences of varying sizes.
- Influence the engineering roadmap toward scalable, usable products that address customer needs.
- Use coding and scripting skills to automate tasks and improve workload analysis mechanisms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent.
- 10+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- In-depth knowledge of database or data warehouse internals, relational database design, and distributed database or MPP architectures.
- Experience writing complex, highly optimized SQL queries across large datasets.
- Knowledge of system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance in database environments.
- Experience with large-scale data analytics and data warehousing.
- Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and customer-facing technical leadership skills.
- Experience in software development or an external enterprise customer-facing technical lead role is preferred.
