Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop critical Python data pipelines.
- Support curation teams in updating and building vocabularies and ontologies.
- Deliver and maintain customer-facing software solutions as required.
- Develop software that assists manual curation efforts.
- Develop and maintain automations across the organization.
- Identify potential collaborations across the wider Elsevier business.
Requirements
- Experience in software development, ideally using Python.
- A BSc, MSc, or PhD in life sciences or a STEM field.
- Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with pytest or unittest and code reviews is beneficial.
- Proficiency with Unix or command-line tools, version control such as GitHub, cloud environments, Python GUI development, ontologies or XML, SQL, compute clusters, workflow management, and production environments is beneficial.
