
Back-end Java Software Engineer III

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot secure, stable, and scalable software components.
- Build and maintain back-end applications using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Analyze large and diverse data sets to identify application problems and support technical decision-making.
- Use software development life-cycle tools and enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development capabilities to improve automation and productivity.
- Validate AI-generated code and other outputs through peer review, automated testing, secure coding standards, and responsible data handling.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and consider upstream and downstream system implications.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, and back-end microservices development.
- Experience building microservices and RESTful API-based applications.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database-querying languages.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Experience across the full software development life cycle.
- Ability to independently solve design and functionality challenges with minimal supervision.
- Preferred experience with AWS or Azure, front-end technologies, Copilot, and other AI platforms.
- Preferred familiarity with distributed systems, web technologies, web services, WebSockets, and JSON.
