Responsibilities
- Design and build highly scalable, loosely coupled, event-driven distributed systems.
- Develop and maintain software using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, microservices, and Kafka.
- Contribute to the build and ongoing accountability of production services.
- Guide the team in adopting Agile processes and practices.
- Promote an engineering mindset and lead technical change across the team.
- Support AWS cloud adoption and DevOps best practices, tools, and technologies.
- Contribute across software development, testing, TDD, and BDD practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Expertise in Java and experience with Java 8, 11, or 17 development.
- Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
- Experience with Kafka or another messaging service.
- Experience delivering products or services in AWS or Azure.
- Demonstrated accountability for a production service and contribution to its build.
- Experience leading change in technical teams and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of architecture and design patterns, event-driven design, domain-driven design, event sourcing, and CQRS.
- Preferred experience with BDD, TDD, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, and Terraform.
