Responsibilities

  • Analyze business and underwriting requirements and design automated underwriting rules.
  • Develop, configure, maintain, and document Magnum rules using visual rule editors and scripting capabilities.
  • Apply software engineering and automation principles to create scalable, reusable rule solutions.
  • Design and execute unit, integration, regression, scenario, and user acceptance testing.
  • Perform defect analysis, production validation, incident support, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for Magnum rule development and provide technical guidance to global implementation teams.
  • Analyze production outcomes and underwriting data to improve rule performance and platform quality.
  • Collaborate with underwriters, architects, product owners, implementation teams, and engineering teams.
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to testing standards, governance frameworks, reusable assets, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in banking, financial services, and insurance, preferably in life and health insurance or reinsurance technology.
  • Hands-on experience in business rule development and testing, ideally with automated underwriting systems or similar rule-based platforms.
  • Proficiency with UiPath or other RPA and automation platforms, with a solid understanding of automation engineering principles.
  • Working knowledge of Java or JavaScript; SQL knowledge is an advantage.
  • Understanding of SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies and experience working in iterative, fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with Magnum or similar automated underwriting platforms is preferred.
  • Practical use of AI and generative AI tools for software development, testing, documentation, and engineering productivity is preferred.
  • Proficiency with JIRA and Microsoft Office tools is preferred.
  • Experience spanning business analysis, rule development, testing, and production support is preferred.
  • Ability to mentor and coach colleagues and work independently and collaboratively across global teams is preferred.
