Base Salary
$98k - $147k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and own the technical architecture, tooling, frameworks, and integration patterns for an enterprise automation program.
- Design scalable automation for provisioning, configuration management, patching, lifecycle operations, observability, and remediation.
- Establish development, coding, reusability, modular design, logging, metrics, observability, versioning, and repository standards.
- Act as the design authority for complex automation initiatives and review solution designs for architectural alignment.
- Partner with SRE, platform development, security, and product teams to deliver reliable, secure, production-ready automation.
- Define repository structure, branching and release strategies, documentation, access controls, and lifecycle governance.
- Create reference architectures, design templates, technical documentation, and knowledge-sharing materials.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure development, SRE, or automation-centric roles.
- Proven experience designing and implementing automation at scale in enterprise environments.
- Hands-on expertise with infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM.
- Experience with configuration management and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.
- Experience with Python, PowerShell, and Bash scripting.
- Experience with source control and CI/CD platforms such as GitLab and GitLab CI/CD.
- Experience with agentic, workflow-driven, event-driven, or AI-assisted automation.
- Strong understanding of SRE fundamentals, production operations, reliability, resilience, observability, and automated service delivery.
- Ability to independently solve complex technical problems and influence teams without direct authority.
- Experience defining automation standards or frameworks adopted by multiple teams across on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
- Exposure to operational intelligence, analytics-driven automation, or AIOps concepts.
