Base Salary
$122k - $163k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define technical strategy, architecture standards, reusable patterns, platform guardrails, and engineering standards for enterprise data platforms.
- Design, implement, optimize, modernize, migrate, and transform scalable cloud-based data platforms supporting analytics, AI, machine learning, and reporting workloads.
- Establish DataOps, DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, configuration automation, and platform automation practices.
- Implement governance, security, compliance, identity and access management, data protection, zero-trust, and least-privilege controls in regulated environments.
- Partner with architecture, security, product, engineering, and business leaders to influence platform roadmaps, technical decisions, and architectural trade-offs.
- Lead incident response, platform reliability, monitoring, observability, operational excellence, and service-level reporting initiatives.
- Mentor engineers and promote technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience designing enterprise-scale data architectures, ETL/ELT pipelines, modern data platforms, distributed systems, batch and real-time data platforms, streaming technologies, data warehouses, and databases.
- Advanced proficiency with SQL and Python for large-scale data processing and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience administering Azure Databricks and working with Snowflake, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Data Factory.
- Experience with cloud security, governance, identity and access management, compliance controls, data quality, lineage, networking, storage, secrets management, and data protection.
- Experience with Azure, Databricks, Kubernetes, Kafka, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives, influence architectural decisions across multiple teams, communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences, and manage stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with cloud-based data, analytics, AI, and machine learning platforms; secure AI application and agent integration patterns; vector search; private connectivity; content controls; approved model providers; observability; centralized logging; GitOps; and platform lifecycle management.
- Azure Administrator Certification is preferred.
