Responsibilities
- Own software development lifecycle activities, including requirements, design, development, testing, and non-production deployment.
- Lead architectural and systems design for new software components and large-scale web and desktop systems.
- Own and evolve the shared UI platform, including the component library, application framework, desktop container, and related libraries.
- Provide technical leadership and last-resort support for React, Redux, and related web and desktop technologies.
- Design and develop production desktop applications using inter-process communication and messaging-based APIs.
- Build and maintain an AI agent/harness application with MCP tools, resources, and prompts.
- Direct and critically review AI-assisted development output, including code, tests, and documentation.
- Author requirements, technical design documents, and architecture decision records.
- Manage builds and non-production deployments independently.
- Create and maintain software tests, identify application optimization opportunities, and follow company development standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science; a graduate degree is preferred.
- 5+ years of JavaScript and functional programming experience with the ability to design, evaluate, and correct production application code.
- Experience leading architectural and systems design for large-scale web applications and multi-process desktop systems.
- Experience owning the full software development lifecycle from requirements through non-production deployment.
- Technical writing skills for requirements, design decisions, and architecture decision records.
- Ability to direct and review AI-assisted development tools and generated output.
- Advanced experience with React and Redux and strong proficiency with TypeScript, modern CSS, and HTML5.
- Experience designing and maintaining libraries or frameworks used by other development teams.
- Experience with desktop containers or multi-process application architectures.
- Experience with testing, debugging, continuous integration, Node.js, browser quirks, and cross-browser optimization.
- Experience with client-side testing tools such as React Testing Library, Jest, and Enzyme.
- Preferred experience with Electron, Tauri, Rust, MCP server use and implementation, agent and harness design, Emotion, CSS-in-JS, Webpack, Vite, Babel, Git, Claude, Copilot, or Cursor.
