Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver scalable, maintainable, secure, and high-performing software solutions.
- Build Java and Spring Boot microservices, REST-based integrations, and distributed systems.
- Implement asynchronous, event-driven processing using Kafka and IBM MQ, including message design, delivery guarantees, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Work with Oracle and MongoDB databases, including query optimization, transaction management, and microservices integration.
- Apply design patterns, secure coding practices, unit testing, observability, fault tolerance, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and business functions to define requirements and solution strategies.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, technology communities, risk management, and control and governance activities.
- Lead collaborative assignments, guide team members, communicate complex information, and influence stakeholders toward effective outcomes.
Requirements
- Strong expertise in Java 21 or later and Spring Boot.
- Experience developing scalable microservices, designing APIs, applying security and resilience patterns, and optimizing performance.
- Deep knowledge of Kafka and IBM MQ, including event-driven architecture, message design, delivery guarantees, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with RestTemplate or WebClient for REST-based service-to-service communication and distributed system architecture.
- Experience with Oracle and MongoDB, including query optimization, transaction management, and integration with microservices.
- Strong understanding of design patterns and engineering best practices for scalable, resilient, asynchronous processing systems.
- Knowledge or practical experience with agentic AI, AI-assisted development tools, and automation frameworks is valued.
- Experience with public cloud platforms, preferably AWS, including cloud-native architecture, containerization, and managed services is valued.
- Payments processing domain knowledge, including payment lifecycles, messaging standards, reconciliation, fraud controls, and regulatory considerations, is valued.
- Ability to analyze complex information, manage risk and controls, collaborate across functions, and influence stakeholders.
