Base Salary
$120k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead qualification and production-readiness validation for Azure Storage hardware SKUs, platforms, SSDs, networking devices, and firmware releases.
- Drive qualification strategy, test planning, execution, and sign-off recommendations for Azure Storage deployments.
- Investigate and resolve complex qualification failures, performance regressions, reliability issues, and production-readiness blockers across software, hardware, firmware, and platform layers.
- Design and develop scalable automation frameworks to improve qualification coverage, efficiency, quality, and engineering productivity.
- Analyze telemetry, benchmark data, and fleet health signals to identify performance trends, bottlenecks, risks, and optimization opportunities.
- Monitor qualification pipelines, perform root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions through closure.
- Partner with Storage, Compute, Networking, Platform, and vendor engineering teams to resolve critical issues and influence qualification standards and operational practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 4+ years of technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 6+ years of technical experience in service engineering, performance engineering, or site reliability engineering.
- Preferred: 6+ years of experience working with large-scale cloud or distributed systems.
Benefits
- Typical U.S. base pay range is USD $119,800-$234,700 per year; the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area have a separate range of USD $160,200-$261,000 per year.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- The position is open for at least 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until filled.
