Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, implementation, and operation of large-scale distributed systems processing hundreds of millions of daily transactions.
- Build ingestion and production inference infrastructure for physical product observations and ML-based product information extraction.
- Define multi-year technical roadmaps and drive architectural consistency across engineering and science workstreams.
- Establish measurable quality, reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency standards.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and technical guidance.
- Influence technical direction by communicating architectural trade-offs, technical debt, and business impact to stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team lead.
- Preferred: 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
