Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and deliver cloud computing solutions, hosted services, and infrastructure across production, QA, and development environments.
- Support and troubleshoot scalability, high availability, performance, monitoring, backups, and restores.
- Evaluate tools, technologies, and processes to improve delivery speed, efficiency, and scalability.
- Monitor server and application performance using tools such as New Relic, CloudWatch, and Sumo Logic.
- Partner with application developers on software deployment and optimize infrastructure performance.
- Manage solution installation and configuration, oversee maintenance and diagnostic testing, and document processes and performance metrics.
- Implement best practices in network administration, cybersecurity, and high-availability IT operations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional DevOps experience.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related IT field.
- Experience with information security, networking, Linux/RHEL infrastructure, and command-line tools including Bash and PowerShell.
- Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD or Azure DevOps, with GitLab CI/CD preferred.
- Experience configuring infrastructure and application monitoring, alerting, dashboards, log aggregation, and canned queries.
- Extensive hands-on experience with infrastructure configuration management and infrastructure as code, including Terraform, CloudFormation, Chef, or Puppet; Terraform is preferred.
- Proficiency in DevOps development languages such as Python or Node, with Python preferred, and experience with Ansible automation.
- Experience with serverless frameworks including Zappa, Serverless, and Chalice.
- Experience building cloud systems supporting microservices, serverless computing, Redis, NoSQL databases, EC2, Docker, load balancers, and legacy client/server architectures.
- AWS experience is preferred; AWS Developer or AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Java build, packaging, dependency management, and artifact storage systems such as Maven, Gradle, and Artifactory.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Cucumber, Robot, Selenium, and JMeter.
- Experience with Sumo Logic, Splunk, ELK, or syslog for log aggregation, with Sumo Logic preferred.
- Experience with containers and container management systems including Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS Fargate/ECS.
- Experience with deployment strategies, MS SQL, and AWS Aurora PostgreSQL Serverless administration and optimization.
- Familiarity with Agile software development lifecycles and best practices for high availability and uptime.
