Responsibilities
- Implement embedded software based on software-level requirements and defect reports.
- Collaborate with systems and software engineers to develop and maintain software architecture models.
- Develop, integrate, and test software on laboratory assets.
- Support verification and validation activities for integrated software components.
- Perform embedded software implementation, unit testing, integration testing, system-level integration, field integration testing, and requirements verification.
- Develop software for real-time operating systems such as VxWorks.
Requirements
- Level 3 requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and five years of software engineering experience, or a master’s degree in engineering and three years of experience.
- Level 4 requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and eight years of software engineering experience, or a master’s degree in engineering and six years of experience.
- Embedded software and embedded systems development experience, including the ability to read code and verify implementation against software requirements specifications.
- Experience with real-time operating systems such as VxWorks.
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Current U.S. Government Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
- Preferred: defense industry and aerospace design experience.
- Preferred: experience with aerospace and defense technologies such as sensors, navigation aids, guidance electronics, controls, propulsion, structures, and platforms.
- Preferred: technical knowledge in one or more military mission areas, including Air, Land, Sea, Space, or Cyber.
- Preferred: experience assessing legacy system architecture and identifying future technology development opportunities.
- U.S. citizenship is required for positions requiring government clearance.
