Base Salary
$144k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and scale distributed data systems and high-throughput, low-latency pipelines for real-time and batch risk signals.
- Define technical strategy for databases, storage patterns, streaming architecture, and AWS cost optimization.
- Design data models and feature delivery mechanisms supporting real-time decisioning and analytical use cases.
- Build data integrity, feature anomaly detection, drift detection, observability, and lifecycle management capabilities.
- Partner with data scientists, ML engineers, fraud analysts, and risk leadership on feature stores and ML infrastructure.
- Lead technical initiatives, architectural reviews, engineering standards, and mentoring for junior and mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience building and maintaining highly scalable production data systems.
- Experience designing large-scale distributed systems, making architectural trade-offs, and applying data warehousing and data lake principles.
- Expert proficiency in Python, Java, Scala, or Go, with extensive experience using modern big data tools such as Spark, Snowflake, Kafka, and Airflow.
- Extensive experience building, scaling, and cost-optimizing distributed data systems on AWS, including low-latency streaming applications.
- Experience leading complex technical initiatives across multiple quarters from conception through production and deprecation.
- Preferred experience designing data infrastructure for machine learning pipelines, including feature outlier and drift detection.
- Preferred experience in fintech, fraud, or risk domains involving adversarial data, high-volume transactions, or compliance requirements.
