Responsibilities
- Lead solution architecture, technical design, and engineering strategy for complex financial-services applications and data platforms.
- Translate business objectives into target-state architectures, technology roadmaps, estimates, project plans, and implementation strategies.
- Design and modernize enterprise applications, distributed architectures, data platforms, ETL/ELT pipelines, real-time integrations, and CDC solutions.
- Provide hands-on technical direction across Python, SQL, PL/SQL, Perl, database engineering, application development, performance tuning, and enterprise integration.
- Architect Generative AI, RAG, Agentic AI, OCR/vision, and intelligent-automation solutions integrated with LLMs, trusted data, APIs, workflows, and human-in-the-loop controls.
- Establish AI governance, guardrails, evaluation, observability, monitoring, security, and responsible-deployment patterns.
- Lead and mentor globally distributed engineering teams and serve as a senior escalation point for complex application, data, and production issues.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, internal teams, and external providers on requirements, vendor evaluation, RFPs, demonstrations, technical assessments, and buy-versus-build decisions.
Requirements
- 15+ years of Information Technology experience, including significant experience in software engineering, data engineering, application architecture, and financial-services technology.
- Extensive financial-services experience, preferably in Repo, Collateral Management, Asset Management, Custody, Securities Lending, Fixed Income, Trading, Settlements, or related capital-markets functions.
- Demonstrated experience as a Solution Architect, Technical Lead, Engineering Lead, Application Architect, or senior technology manager leading complex enterprise initiatives.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Python, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Database/Exadata, data modeling, ETL/ELT, data engineering, Databricks, Snowflake, Kafka, MQ, Spring Boot, microservices, and enterprise data-integration patterns.
- Working knowledge of Perl and experience with high-performance enterprise applications, real-time and batch data pipelines, data warehouses or lakehouses, CDC solutions, and distributed financial-data processing systems.
- Practical knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI, OCR/vision models, AI governance, guardrails, evaluation, human-in-the-loop workflows, and AI observability.
- Strong understanding of software engineering, application architecture, database performance, resiliency, scalability, security, production support, and enterprise SDLC practices.
- Strong understanding of investment and trading workflows and experience working with portfolio managers, traders, research teams, operations, custody, accounting, and senior business stakeholders.
- Experience with Bloomberg, Charles River Development, market-data feeds, pricing platforms, or financial-data integration frameworks is strongly preferred.
- Experience in Securities Lending, collateral optimization, custody, or financing businesses is preferred.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Professional certifications or advanced training in cloud, data engineering, AI/ML, enterprise architecture, or financial technology are preferred.
