Responsibilities
- Design and develop Mac endpoint components and new features, including web security, real-time protection, and device control.
- Drive CPU, memory, and I/O performance optimization initiatives.
- Debug deadlocks, race conditions, crashes, memory leaks, and other complex system issues.
- Lead root-cause analysis for customer escalations and production issues.
- Collaborate with QA, threat research, driver, and platform teams to deliver releases.
- Review code and enforce secure coding and performance best practices.
- Participate in architectural discussions and influence the endpoint module roadmap.
- Maintain backward compatibility and stability across legacy and evolving codebases.
- Mentor senior engineers.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise in C and C++.
- Strong Objective-C skills.
- Experience developing and debugging system and network extensions.
- Strong macOS application and library debugging experience.
- Good understanding of macOS internals.
- Strong experience with multithreaded and concurrent programming.
- Advanced debugging skills using GDB, strace, crash dumps, and logs.
- Experience with CPU, memory, and I/O performance profiling and tuning.
- Experience working with large, complex, and legacy codebases.
- Experience in system performance analysis and production debugging.
- Cross-platform development experience with macOS, Windows, or Linux is preferred.
- Experience with Makefiles, Git, and Bitbucket is preferred.
