Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Progress 4GL/OpenEdge.
- Build and support REST and SOAP web services for system integrations.
- Develop object-oriented OpenEdge solutions using modern design practices.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and provide ongoing support.
- Deliver OpenEdge application development across the full software development lifecycle.
- Drive integration solutions using APIs, XML, and JSON.
- Collaborate with architects, business stakeholders, QA teams, and cross-functional IT teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Support hybrid architectures through .NET interoperability and strengthen API-driven architectures.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in Progress OpenEdge development.
- Proficiency in Progress OpenEdge versions 11.7 and 12.2, 4GL, PASOE, AppServer, and GUI programming.
- Proven experience with object-oriented programming in OpenEdge.
- Hands-on experience building SOAP/REST web services and system integrations.
- Strong experience with performance tuning, debugging, and application optimization.
- Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and web technologies is preferred.
- Experience with .NET OpenClient development is preferred.
- Knowledge of the Claims domain is preferred.
- Experience with API programming is preferred.
- Familiarity with SVN and SQL is preferred.
