Responsibilities
- Architect and scale internal tools, libraries, and utilities for test automation and benchmarking
- Define and evolve testing strategies for testability, release readiness, performance, and reliability
- Drive cross-organizational quality initiatives that improve execution speed, observability, and feedback loops
- Identify systemic risks in business-critical systems and implement robust validation strategies
- Mentor engineers, influence design for testability, and promote quality engineering best practices
- Collaborate with engineering and product leaders to align testing priorities with platform and business objectives
- Define testing efficiency, reporting, release quality gates, and readiness criteria
- Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability gaps in tests and test frameworks
Requirements
- 8+ years of software industry experience focused on building test automation frameworks, tools, and infrastructure at scale
- Experience defining code quality practices for tests, including review processes, efficiency, and maintainability
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and design principles, preferably with Java
- Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience with Buildkite, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Bazel, Maven, and Gradle
- Strong background with Docker, Kubernetes, and Temporal
- Experience with observability platforms including New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana
- Strong understanding of data engineering concepts and large-scale distributed systems
- Knowledge of ELT pipelines, data integrity testing, schema evolution, and pipeline reliability
- Ability to drive initiatives across multiple teams and influence business-critical systems
- Ability to incorporate AI techniques to improve test efficiency, defect detection, and productivity
- Experience evaluating and adopting quality engineering practices such as shift-left testing, chaos engineering, and autonomous testing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
