Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable production backend services using Node.js.
- Design and implement secure, resilient, scalable cloud-native architectures on AWS.
- Build secure, high-performance APIs and integrations with internal platforms and external services.
- Design distributed and highly available systems, including multi-region and serverless architectures.
- Implement automated deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
- Configure and manage development, QA, staging, and production environments.
- Implement observability with CloudWatch, metrics, logs, and monitoring.
- Design cloud security and API protection strategies using AWS WAF, AWS Shield, IAM, and Secrets Manager.
- Participate in technical decisions involving scalability, cost, performance, maintainability, disaster recovery, and application modernization.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate business requirements into end-to-end technical solutions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience developing backend applications.
- Proven experience developing production solutions on AWS and designing scalable cloud architectures.
- Experience implementing APIs, infrastructure as code, technical architecture decisions, and system integrations.
- Experience with Node.js; Python, Java, or equivalent backend technologies are also relevant.
- Knowledge of microservices, JWT, OAuth 2.0, RBAC, high availability, Multi-AZ, Multi-Region, horizontal scaling, serverless architectures, and DDoS protection.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/Fargate, Amazon S3, CloudFront, Application Load Balancer, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Secrets Manager, AWS WAF, AWS Shield, and VPC.
- Experience with Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Git, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Docker, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
- Experience with agile methodologies.
- Preferred qualifications include React, Next.js, Cognito, infrastructure design from scratch, system design, high-concurrency applications, disaster recovery, legacy application migration to AWS, and experience in banking, fintech, insurance, or regulated industries.
- Intermediate English and availability to work from Mexico are required by the title and posting context.
