Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-quality software components for ExtraHop’s platform and products.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, UX, QA, and other partners on requirements, architecture, and implementation.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, architectural planning, test automation, and CI/CD processes.
- Debug and troubleshoot software in real-world customer environments.
- Improve performance, scalability, reliability, quality, stability, and maintainability through measurement and optimization.
- Contribute to engineering processes, mentoring, continuous learning, and a collaborative culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong programming skills in one or more of Go, Python, C, C++, Rust, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Experience developing software on Linux or Unix environments, including debugging and developer tooling.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals and Layer 2 through Layer 7 protocols.
- Familiarity with encryption fundamentals and authentication technologies such as TLS, SAML, or OIDC.
- Ability to design maintainable, reliable, high-quality software and work independently and collaboratively.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, enterprise-scale systems, cybersecurity, Wireshark, or tcpdump.
- Ability to mentor others and contribute to a positive engineering culture.
