Responsibilities
- Design, develop, modify, test, debug, deploy, and support full-stack applications and services.
- Build user-facing features, backend services, APIs, data integrations, and abstractions using Java, Python, React, JavaScript, and related frameworks.
- Lead significant development work, projects or workstreams, code reviews, technical debt management, and development methodology improvements.
- Partner with Equity investment professionals, product owners, and technology colleagues to translate business needs and workflows into technology solutions.
- Develop data models and schemas and apply concepts including ACID, normalization, and transactions.
- Explore practical AI tools, use cases, and engineering patterns for developer productivity, automation, decision support, investment workflows, and user experience.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and support to colleagues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, typically with 5+ years of progressive experience.
- In-depth expertise in the job discipline and working knowledge of related disciplines.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks, including Java, Python, React, JavaScript, and related full-stack technologies.
- Experience with software unit, integration, and acceptance testing during feature development.
- Ability to develop data models or schemas and understand ACID, normalization, and transaction concepts.
- Ability to debug large components with limited assistance and design practical APIs and abstractions.
- Curiosity about AI concepts, tools, or platforms and interest in applying them responsibly.
- Preferred experience in Equity, investment management, asset management, capital markets, wealth management, or other front-office financial services technology environments.
