Base Salary
$170k - $253k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop synthetic workload queries and datasets for testing DataPelago Accelerator for Spark.
- Create diagnostic tools that analyze DataPelago, Apache Spark, and deployment-environment logs.
- Handle or escalate customer support issues as part of the product support rotation.
- Conduct end-to-end product validation by defining, reviewing, and executing test plans.
- Analyze validation artifacts and customer issues to identify configuration tuning opportunities, product recommendations, and bugs.
- Use automation and AI techniques throughout product validation and customer support.
- Create bug reports, root-cause analysis documents, configuration guides, and best-practice documents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in development, validation, and support of enterprise data-processing software products.
- 2+ years of experience providing direct support to external customers.
- 2+ years of experience supporting Apache Spark pipelines for data engineering and analytics.
- Proficiency with Spark jobs, resource provisioning, parameter configuration and tuning, Spark History Server, Spark UI, event logs, and other Spark logs.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and Python.
- Proficiency in testing data products and test automation.
- Understanding of cloud deployment and operations for data-processing products and pipelines across SaaS, VM-based, container-based, and serverless scenarios.
- Experience with GCP, AWS, and their Apache Spark-related offerings is preferred.
- Good customer engagement and communication skills.
