Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend solutions, REST APIs, background jobs, and integrations.
- Implement automated testing, deployment, and monitoring practices.
- Optimize SQL queries and maintain data integrity across relational databases.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to define and deliver customer-facing features.
- Improve system performance, maintainability, and extensibility.
- Own projects from ideation through production release and ongoing improvement.
Requirements
- Require 5+ years of experience building large-scale, high-performing backend services.
- Require proficiency in a strongly typed language such as Java or C++.
- Require knowledge of dependency injection and RESTful API design.
- Require experience writing SQL and DDL and working with high-throughput production databases such as MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, or Aurora.
- Require clean, maintainable coding practices and the ability to provide constructive code-review feedback.
- Require the ability to experiment with approaches to loosely defined problems and iterate toward effective solutions.
- Desirable qualifications include Java expertise, familiarity with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Hibernate, and AOP, AWS services experience, and NoSQL knowledge with relevant data-modeling patterns.
