Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the QA team, establish standards, review work, and develop automation capabilities.
- Own test strategy, coverage, risk-based prioritization, release quality gates, and go/no-go decisions.
- Architect and evolve Playwright UI automation for Angular and React applications.
- Build and maintain API automation for Spring Boot and Python microservices, including functional, integration, contract, and regression testing.
- Define test data and environment strategies for MongoDB-backed services, including setup, teardown, and isolation.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and provide fast, reliable, actionable feedback.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and DevOps on acceptance criteria, testability, defect prevention, performance, load, and reliability testing.
- Establish and report quality metrics including coverage, defect escape rate, flakiness, and test cycle time.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of QA and test automation experience, including experience leading or mentoring a QA team.
- Deep hands-on Playwright experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python for modern Angular and React single-page applications.
- Strong API testing experience with REST, JSON schema validation, authentication flows, and tools such as REST Assured, Pytest/requests, or Postman/Newman.
- Experience testing Spring Boot and Python services, including FastAPI or Flask, in microservices environments.
- Working knowledge of MongoDB queries, aggregations, and pipeline data validation.
- Experience building and owning CI/CD test pipelines with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI, and running test suites in Docker or Kubernetes.
- Strong debugging, failure triage, communication, stakeholder management, and release-quality decision-making skills.
- Experience in SaaS or product-based companies with frequent release cycles.
- Preferred experience testing AI/ML products, validating extraction accuracy or model output quality, or building LLM evaluation harnesses.
- Preferred experience with JMeter, k6, Locust, observability platforms, Pact, service virtualization, and AI-assisted development or testing tools such as Claude Code.
