Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a Scrum team maintaining multiple backend microservices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues using strong debugging and remote troubleshooting skills.
- Architect, design, and implement clean, scalable backend systems.
- Ensure backend performance, resiliency, scalability, and security.
- Develop and maintain robust unit and automation testing.
- Analyze requirements and collaborate with product owners, scrum masters, and cross-functional teams to deliver features.
- Research, prototype, and implement new technologies, ideas, and software design patterns.
- Integrate features across diverse teams and platform technologies while supporting customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with large-scale commercial cloud services and applications.
- Proven leadership in critical projects and fast-paced environments.
- Advanced Java programming skills with Spring, Jersey, and Spring Boot.
- Expertise in large-scale microservices, caching with Redis, distributed tracing, eventing with Kinesis, and system scaling.
- Mastery of RESTful web services and relational and NoSQL databases including MySQL and DynamoDB.
- Experience with unit and automation testing using JUnit, Cucumber, and JMeter.
- Deep knowledge of software design patterns, distributed systems, resiliency, and security.
- Strong troubleshooting and remote debugging skills.
- Familiarity with Ant, Gradle, Docker, Jenkins, and Git.
- Excellent communication and adaptability across time zones.
- Preferred experience with AWS services including ECS, Lambda, Batch, Step Function, API Gateway, CloudFront, S3, and SQS.
- Preferred familiarity with Python, Groovy, AngularJS, React.js, Redux, Lucene, Elasticsearch, Jira, and Wiki.
- Preferred experience with Agile development.
