Base Salary
$167k - $208k/yr
Responsibilities
- Bring design intent to life by translating high-fidelity layouts into functional web experiences.
- Surface new possibilities in browsers and propose enhancements to improve user experiences.
- Implement engaging animations and interactions for product launches and campaigns.
- Build and extend the design system to accommodate new use cases.
- Collaborate directly with brand designers and marketing as a creative partner.
- Set and advocate for high-quality standards for Mercury's web presence.
Requirements
- Portfolio demonstrating engineering quality and design sensibility.
- Experience as a technical lead on complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Deep command of HTML and CSS as creative mediums.
- Fluency in web animation tools like CSS transitions, GSAP, and the Web Animations API.
- Proficiency in React and Next.js, especially in content-heavy contexts.
- Experience working with and extending design systems.
- Ability to navigate strong design opinions from brand designers or creative directors.
- Focus on performance as an integral part of design.
- Experience with DatoCMS or a comparable headless CMS.
