Responsibilities
- Build and ship new features for SiteOwl’s web, mobile, and backend applications.
- Create documented backend RESTful APIs for customer consumption using Node.js.
- Implement responsive front-end features for desktop and mobile environments.
- Write automated tests, perform code reviews, and follow software development processes.
- Collaborate with product teams to design and specify customer-focused features.
- Work with engineering leadership to architect features using appropriate tools and libraries.
- Use AI development tools to implement features in the codebase.
- Travel up to 10% to meet customer requirements and carry up to 50 pounds of presentation materials.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of professional development experience.
- College or university degree preferred, especially in a technical field such as Computer Science, or commensurate work experience, with at least a high school diploma or GED.
- Solid foundation in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTTP, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience shipping rich applications with React and architecting and shipping backend RESTful APIs with Node.js.
- Familiarity with front-end and backend performance best practices.
- Experience with SQL and SQL databases.
- Experience with common software development tools and processes.
- Experience with agentic AI development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.
- Experience with DevOps and cloud platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience with React Native, Android, or iOS development is preferred.
- An eye for quality UI/UX is preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, ownership, teamwork, and adaptability skills.
