Responsibilities

  • Independently plan and execute features or related task areas from ticket through deployment.
  • Design, write, test, and ship software across the frontend and backend, with a primary focus on frontend development.
  • Build interfaces for configuring, running, and monitoring computational workflows.
  • Contribute to backend APIs, workflow execution logic, and data pipelines.
  • Debug and resolve issues spanning frontend, backend state, asynchronous job execution, and workflow execution.
  • Apply coding standards, architectural patterns, and CI/CD practices.
  • Collaborate with researchers and developers to clarify complex computational requirements.
  • Identify technical risks, challenge unnecessarily complex approaches, and communicate progress, blockers, and decisions.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in full-stack software development.
  • Proficiency with Vue.js or a comparable frontend framework, TypeScript, and Node.js.
  • Experience with REST APIs and relational or job-queue-backed data stores, including PostgreSQL and Redis.
  • Strong frontend development skills and interest in intuitive interfaces for complex computational workflows.
  • Ability to work with asynchronous execution, long-running job state, databases, retries, idempotency, task dependencies, and graceful failure handling.
  • Ability to reason about code beyond immediate tasks and avoid duplicated logic or unintended impacts.
  • Basic familiarity with deployment and infrastructure pipelines, Docker, logging, and monitoring/OTEL.
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience with Argo Workflows or a comparable workflow orchestration system is preferred.
  • Knowledge of parallel processing and libraries such as mpi4py is preferred.
  • Familiarity with GPU acceleration using CUDA, OpenCL, JAX, or Numba is preferred.
  • Experience with quantum software development kits, simulators, research tooling, quantum algorithms, hybrid quantum-classical workflows, or scientific computing is preferred.
