- Develop multi-cloud portability strategies, abstraction layers, platform primitives, and cloud-provider failover runbooks.
- Design data routing, storage, processing, and classification architectures that enforce jurisdictional data residency.
- Define availability, resilience, observability, SLO, and SLA architectures across multi-region and multi-cloud deployments.
- Lead chaos engineering and failure-mode analysis exercises for failover, replication, and cloud fallback.
- Conduct architecture reviews, maintain the ADR library, address architectural drift, and contribute to the Platform pod roadmap.
- Translate regulatory obligations into concrete infrastructure and application architecture in partnership with Compliance and Legal.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in multi-region application design, including active-active and active-passive topologies, global load balancing, regional failover, and cross-region replication.
- Strong hands-on experience with at least two of AWS, GCP, and Azure, including understanding of provider differences relevant to financial workloads.
- Proficiency with cloud-agnostic infrastructure patterns, Kubernetes multi-cluster federation, cross-region networking, service mesh architectures, and Terraform or Pulumi.
- Strong understanding of networking at scale, including BGP, Anycast, CDN strategies, private interconnects, and east-west traffic management.
- Familiarity with distributed consistency models, CRDTs, conflict resolution, and globally distributed databases.
- Understanding of data residency and sovereignty requirements involving UAE ADGM/DFSA, UK FCA, EU GDPR/PSD2, and other relevant frameworks.
- Familiarity with payment rail latency, settlement finality, FX liquidity-provider connectivity, and correspondent banking dependencies.
- Ability to produce precise ADRs, reference architectures, and design documents and communicate complex trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong systems thinking and ability to reason about failure modes, blast radius, and cascading effects in distributed systems.
Benefits
