Base Salary
$128k - $209k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of enterprise APIs and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS cloud services.
- Define API contracts, payload schemas, and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications for API-first solutions.
- Guide engineers in building secure and scalable integrations using OAuth 2.0, JWT, and enterprise authorization models.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs, user stories, and implementation plans.
- Provide technical leadership through design reviews, technical decisions, code reviews, and engineering best-practice improvements.
- Collaborate with product owners, UI teams, architects, and partner teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Drive automated testing, performance testing, operational excellence, reliability, scalability, observability, security, and maintainability.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex production issues.
- Own the full software lifecycle, including deployment, monitoring, support, documentation, and operational runbooks.
Requirements
- Extensive experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices with Java 21 or later and Spring Boot.
- Experience with API management platforms such as Apigee.
- Experience designing, deploying, and operating applications in public clouds such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience owning the end-to-end software lifecycle and writing unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests.
- Experience with JUnit and Mockito.
- Experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures with message-streaming solutions such as AWS Kinesis, AWS SQS, AWS SNS, Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, Apache ActiveMQ, or Azure Event Hub.
- Strong knowledge of relational, NoSQL, caching, search, and vector database technologies, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Aurora, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GoCD, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
- Experience working within an Agile development framework, ideally Scrum.
- Ability to apply software development, product design and architecture, decision-making, critical-thinking, and effective communication skills.
